Boogs Sack: Tokyo, Northern Japan, NYC: BTJN

A lovely trip planned. A few days in Tokyo and area, then onto a cruise centered on Northern Japan this time and finally an anticipated stay in NYC with Neil before returning to RI for the weather (the weather??), a wedding and Thanksgiving.

    Welcome to Tokyo – looks like you missed the rains so far (talked to Marie’ last night and got weather updates :-). Technically, Tokyo is Eastern Japan (KANTO 関東). From the cruise map, you’ll be mostly in the North – Sendai is usually the cut off and not sure where Busan fits in :-).

    Just to clarify, that is the Akasaka Palace which is mostly a state guest house with a residence for the Crown Prince on the estate, as opposed to the Imperial Palace, which is closer to Tokyo Station. Our old Xidex offices looked down at the prince’s residence, which is how I remember it.

    Like the New Otani classic ikebana display, very autumnal…
