Zamora to Santiago de Compostela

Where it is no longer BSVDLP as we are done sacking and are now touristing; where a train ride was easy after a late hotel departure.

Train started out at 150 mph. Slowed down for each of six stops, so overall not that fast.

Zamora train station – just like PA

Flea market in front of hotel. 35-40 tables. Busy.

A few typewriters too

Something that reminds about bureaucracy here.

QB arrival at the Cathedral

Made it with a little help from the train

Dinner, back to a menu we like better than Castille y Leon

Dorade

The chef is quite a griller:

Enormous steak portions, these not so much
Different stork?

I vote same nest, same stork, different angle and lighting.

Nice looking clams and peppers; what is the red sauce on the potatoes? Your first Dorade this trip?

Great New Yorker cartoon… does this mean you are experiencing bureaucracy in your current location, or just recalling past days?

Very likely same stork, definitely not the same nest, two nests on top of the church,we had a clear view.

Red sauce is Patata Brava sauce. Different in different areas of Spain but best in Basque country and second best here in Galicia. Not good in Castille area based on our trying many times. White is a mayo and the red should be spicy.

As to the bureaucracy it is built into spain. Checking in at every hotel required giving them passports from which they copied all info, onto paper or occassionally a computer, meticuously. Long long checkin.

I see very nice clams, but I don’t see percepes! Why are you not eating the best shellfish in the universe? https://www.tasteatlas.com/percebes
