BSD Hann.Munden out of order catching up

2 July Hann.Munden

A very very hot and dehydrating uphill ride to Hann.Munden It is almost
the final day of riding on the continent as we now head, via Aachen, to
Bruges for a break before cycling to Rye from Dover. A celebratory wine has
been aquired as the observant reader will already know.

The hotel we booked has a technical problem with their net connection in the
rooms so I do not know if this will go out today as planned. When it goes
out we will also try and post the latest flickr pics.

Here is a link to the wiki on this interesting town with an interesting
history of its name.

The story of the name is in itself interesting as well as the fairy tale
book collection of houses etc.

To cool off a bit we went to the Dom here. As a 15th century gothic it is
cool inside. Interesting too. Another of the Evangelical Lutheren house of
worship – we are just about due west of Lutherstadt on the Elbe and our
gentle readers will remember the stories of that city, our launch pad to
Potsdam and Berlin.

The town does indeed, as the Wiki artlcle says, have hundreds of the Weser R
houses from the 17th century but also has house dated from 1450 or so;
probably not the original. Their 850 year celebration starts on the 4th.
One can take only so much cuteness before needing a beer.

Dinner will be a break. Muscli, fruit, and yorgurt and cheese and some
smoked trout, with our wine, all as a in room picnic.
