Love the picture of QB on the dock.
Proof that great stomachs think in the same gutters, I made a variant of
shrimp grits cheese bacon and garlic tonight. Except that instead of grits I
used basmati rice. And instead of bacon, a copious amount of golden onions.
Then I cooked it in that fantastic pan that Judi got that has sides on the
inside for extra crust development. Muru, who was attracted by the onion
and rice smells ate about 1/3 of it, a sneaky spoonful at a time, before it
was even on the dinner table. High praise. Accompanied by brined pork roast
and goat cheese/spinach salad, all of which was inspired by talk of southern
cooking earlier today. So thanks.
